Why is the parging falling off my foundation?

Moisture wicking up from the ground freezes behind the coating, or it was applied without proper bonding. Removing the loose areas and re-parging with a bonding agent solves it.

Is parging just cosmetic?

It is partly cosmetic, but it also shields block and mortar from water and frost. Missing parging lets the foundation deteriorate faster.

Can you parge a fieldstone foundation?

We can, but fieldstone often does better with repointing so it can breathe. We will recommend the right approach after looking at it.

When is the best season for parging?

Spring through fall, when temperatures stay above 40°F for curing. We can work in cooler weather with protection.

Do you repair exterior stucco on houses too?

Yes. We repair cracked and delaminated cement stucco on chimneys, walls, and garden structures.
