Sample joints are mixed and cured on site so color and texture match before we scale up.

Joints are cut to depth, cleaned, packed in layers, and tooled to match the original profile.

Clean and seal
Walls are washed down and, where useful, treated with a breathable water repellent.

How often does brick need repointing?

Mortar typically lasts 25 to 50 years in the Boston climate. Freeze-thaw cycles, downspout splash, and hard modern mortar on old brick all shorten that.

What happens if I use the wrong mortar?

Portland-heavy mortar on soft historic brick is harder than the brick itself, so the brick face spalls instead of the joint. We match hardness deliberately to avoid it.

Can you repoint only one wall?

Yes, and often that is the smart move. South and west exposures and chimney stacks usually fail first.

Is repointing messy?

Grinding creates dust, so we tarp plantings, windows, and walkways and wash everything down at the end of each day.

How long before I can expect results?

Water intrusion usually stops immediately. Mortar cures over 28 days and reaches full strength in that window.
