Ultimate Boston Masonry is a small, family-run crew. We answer our own phone, price our own jobs, and stand on the staging ourselves. That is the whole business model.
Our story
Built on repeat work and referrals
We started Ultimate Boston Masonry after 5 years of doing masonry for other people and watching too many homeowners pay twice for the same wall. Corners get cut where nobody can see them: base depth under a patio, a drain line behind a retaining wall, mortar mixed harder than the brick it sits against. Those shortcuts do not show up for three or four winters, and by then the contractor is long gone.
So we built the company around the opposite habit. Every proposal spells out what happens below the surface. Every project gets photographed before, during, and after. And every price is fixed before we start, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Today we handle chimneys, repointing, patios, walls, steps, foundations, veneer, and fire features for homeowners across 81 cities and towns. Most of our work now comes from neighbors of people we have already worked for, which is exactly how we wanted it.
Licensing and insurance
We are a registered Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor, fully insured for general liability, and carry workers' compensation for every person on site. Certificates go out with each proposal, and we can send them directly to your insurer, condo association, or property manager on request.
We pull permits where towns require them, including retaining walls over four feet and outdoor fireplace installations, and we coordinate with structural engineers whenever a repair touches something load bearing.

How we operate
Tell people the truth
If a repair will hold for another five years, we say so instead of selling a rebuild.
Build for the climate
Base depth, drainage, and mortar type are chosen for New England freeze-thaw, not for speed.
Respect the house
Historic brick gets historic mortar. We match what the original mason did rather than overpowering it.
Leave it clean
Tarps down, debris out daily, walkways swept. You should not be able to tell we were there except for the work.
